Mark 1:32–37 (ESV)

32 That evening at sundown they brought to him all who were sick or oppressed by demons.

33 And the whole city was gathered together at the door.

34 And he healed many who were sick with various diseases, and cast out many demons. And he would not permit the demons to speak, because they knew him.

35 And rising very early in the morning, while it was still dark, he departed and went out to a desolate place, and there he prayed.

36 And Simon and those who were with him searched for him,

37 and they found him and said to him, “Everyone is looking for you.”

Early morning prayer was a part of Jesus’ life. In the context of this passage, he had had a very late night ministering to crowds of people and was still up early for prayer. This time of solitude with the Father will not only decompress us from the pressures of life but also give us the flow of life and strength to do what He asks of us.

1. In His presence, there is peace (Phil 4:6-7).

2. In His presence, we find strength (Isa 40:31).

3. In His presence, life and anointing flow (John 15:5)
