Matthew 28:2–4 (NLT)
2 Suddenly there was a great earthquake! For an angel of the Lord came down from heaven, rolled aside the stone, and sat on it.
3 His face shone like lightning, and his clothing was as white as snow.
4 The guards shook with fear when they saw him, and they fell into a dead faint.

He announces, and then He does. He is God. He has no reason and no desire to “sneak.” I just love these verses. God gets everyone’s attention with an earthquake, then while everyone is watching, the angel rolls away the stone and THEN SITS ON IT. The angel is in no hurry. Hahahaha! God needed to do nothing. The body of Jesus, in its glorified state, walked through walls, remember? This was not to “release Jesus from the tomb.” This was to reveal that the resurrection had taken place and display His authority.
